Seller Financing: Rights, Remedies and Obligations
It is not uncommon for realtors to assist their clients with seller-financed transactions. While this may save each client a little money on attorney fees, it is also fraught with risks that can and do cause problems. The problem is that in Washington, there are two preferred methods of seller financing. Unfortunately, however, many real estate agents and brokers do not understand the key differences and may use the inappropriate type. Our attorneys are well familiar with both the variety of different seller-financed transactions and with the rights, remedies and obligations of the parties under each type of contractual arrangement.
Forfeitures and Foreclosures
Although we do, on occasion, represent buyers' interests related to real estate contract forfeitures and foreclosures — our firm primarily represents sellers. In these matters, we offer a comprehensive knowledge of real estate and mortgage law and deliver our services with timeliness and cost-control in mind. Whatever the matter involves — a promissory note, a deed of trust, a real estate contract, a non-judicial or a judicial foreclosure, or contract forfeiture — our attorneys look carefully at every unique situation to develop a solution tailored to meet the particular needs of each client.
